Opening Friday, October 16: Hard Edge: Ping-Pong Abstraction from Houston Thrift Stores

Tournament from 4-8 pm

Besides showing art, Dave Hickey's proverbial "clean, well-lighted place" is ideal for Ping-Pong, and this Summer's recession has given many art lovers time to hone their skills to a hard edge. Friday, October 16 from 4-8pm Optical Project will hold an open single-elimination ping pong tournament in conjunction with the opening of Hard Edge: Ping-Pong Abstraction from Houston Thrift Stores.

Also: Bill's Junk (next door) returns from its Summer at the air-conditioned CAMH.

Optical Project is an art space in the Heights run by Houston artist and writer Bill Davenport, who thought he was good at ping pong. It is located near the intersection of Studewood and 11th Sts. in the Heights, next door to DaCapo's bakery and Bill's Junk. You can't miss it.
