Opening reception for the artist on Friday, February 26, 6-8pm
Zoya Tommy of PG Contemporary, one of Houston's new generation of art dealers, is opening her second public exhibition this Friday at Optical Project, and it's going to be good.
Santiago Cucullu, Milwaukee-based ex-core fellow, (remember those giant contact-paper wall graphics?) is back for a visit, and he's brought some bronze banana peels, a video, and 19 little gems in watercolor, all painted, he says, from his memory of "The Kitchen" by Picasso, a 1948 painting at the MoMa in NY. Hence the show's title: Picasso's Kitchen. Oh, and one of those big wall drawings, too!
Optical Project is located near the intersection of Studewood and 11th Sts. in the Heights, next door to DaCapo's bakery and Bill's Junk.
